Willow’s First Blood Moon
On the chilly night of March 13th, 2025, I bundled up and stepped outside to catch the lunar eclipse—and on a whim, I woke up my daughter, Willow, to see it too. It was her very first Blood Moon, and even though the photos I captured on my iPhone 13 Pro Max were simple, the experience was unforgettable.
What made it even more special (and kind of hilarious) was how the moon seemed to have a face in every shot—like a cosmic emoji staring right back at us. I’ve always heard of “the man on the moon,” but this was the first time I actually saw him.
The photos may not be my sharpest, but they’re a reminder of the magic in sharing the night sky with someone you love. I’m looking forward to capturing the next lunar eclipse—this time, with better gear and just as much wonder.

I took this shortly after the Lunar Eclipse started

This one is one of my favorites - it is cool the see some of the other stars in the background

This one is my favorite out of these few shots I took - the radiating purple was a cool effect I was getting from a nearby light and the exposure settings

Although super grainy - here's there "man on the moon"

One happy camper! This was a night to remember
