This roadmap is my public commitment to you. It's my accountability. It's how you know I'm serious about this — and how you can follow along as DeLong's Observatory grows from a backyard dream into something real.

I'm not going to pretend I have it all figured out. I don't. But I know where I'm headed and I'm committed to getting there one clear night at a time.

    Learning. Shooting. Showing Up.

    This is where it all begins. In 2026 my focus is simple — stop planning and start doing.

    • Grow @DelongsObservatory on Instagram and post consistently

    • Capture and share my first intentional astrophotography images

    • Grow the DeLong's Observatory newsletter community

    • Attend and participate in local astronomy community events

    • Begin connecting with local schools and community organizations

    • Host my first informal stargazing session

  • Building. Connecting. Creating.

    With a foundation in place the focus shifts to creating real value for this community.

    • Host first community stargazing event

    • Deliver first school presentation to Ferndale School District

    • Launch first beginner educational resource

    • Begin generating first meaningful revenue

    • Deepen DeLong's Observatory presence in Whatcom County

    • Explore partnerships with local libraries and community organizations

    This is where the vision gets exciting. I'm not ready to share everything that's coming — but I will say this. DeLong's Observatory has a long term vision for this community that goes far beyond a website and an Instagram account.
